ABRAHAM
05/28/1998 – 03/11/2011
Abraham was my first guide dog and he was amazing. He has set the standard for all of his successors. Patience and serenity are the two best words to describe him. Abraham reminded me of a little bear, so I often referred to him as Boogie Bear. He was a great companion during dialysis and had the ability to sense my insulin reactions, often before I could. Although I am not a morning person, Abraham would sit by my bedside and wake me up in the mornings for his breakfast. On a couple of occasions, Abraham helped me navigate home when we got lost in the neighborhood. He couldn’t wait for dinner time and would dance while I was preparing and serving his food, even as time was taking its toll on his body. After he retired, he spent a year in Michigan and Ohio with my husband and was a fixture on the jobsites. I will miss going to bed listening to the sound of his snoring. He has touched many lives and was loved by all. Abraham, you will be loved always and never forgotten.
